Iced Double Espresso Milk Stout ~ I can’t believe that it has been four years. It seems like yesterday and it seems like Surly has been around forever. Espresso component is Jim’s Five Star Blend from Coffee & Tea LTD. This beer is exactly as the name implies, espresso in the nose & first few sips, big chewy stout that is rounded out from the milk sugars that are added to the brew kettle. 9% alcohol
Surly “Mild” $4.00
Personally I wish that this beer was available year around. How they are able to get this much flavor into a beer that is only 4% alcohol is beyond me. Flavors of light milk chocolate with a touch of malty roasty tannin. This one is to drink all night long.
Surly ”Cynic” $6.00
A saison style: flavors of honey and black pepper with floral notes of apricots and peaches with just enough character to let you know that it was fermented with a Belgian yeast strain. 6.6% alcohol
